Please show us your research at Aichi Prefectural University
I came to Japan in October 2005, to study one of my fascinated subject IT (Information Technology) in Aichi Prefectural University (APU). I was engaged in the research of Digital Image Processing and Computer Vision in the field of digital signal processing and related to artificial intelligence and, Scheduling in Operation Research at Graduate School of Information Science and Technology in APU.
There were two seminars in every weeks, my professor leads to discuss and give questions and valuable advices to the research members. I was very happy for participating in this seminar, because this is a great chance for me to discuss the things related to my research and get valuable advice and comments from my Professor and other research members. And, there are many facilities such as new devices and equipment are always up to date to do successful research. I had a great time and got new knowledge that I did not have in my country.
What is your current work?
S.E at Yabashi Holdings Co. Ltd., Japan
What is your most impressive experience during the study at Aichi Prefectural University?
In APU, there are many Professors, teachers, staffs, and students who are very kind and help always me. They are always willing to help me with warm heart. I have many friends, and teachers not only in Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, but also in other faculties like School of Foreign Studies and School of Japanese Studies. I joined the Japanese class 3 times in a week and went to the excursion to study Japanese culture like tea ceremony, and Japanese classical drama called Kabuki (歌舞伎) with other foreign and Japanese students in APU. I had a great time and got new experience and enhanced knowledge about Japanese society and culture, this sort of knowledge, as well as the things I have learned at APU, helps me very much.
Please give a message to future international students.
In APU, there are several kinds of research fields including Artificial Intelligence, Operations Research, Image Processing, Computer Vision, Intelligent Transport Systems, and many more. So, you have many choices for the research field but if you wanted to do research with your experienced fields or related to your past research fields, it is also possible because information technology has the wide range of fields and it is always up to date.
I started to live by myself for the first time when I came to Japan as an overseas student in APU. It is the place that provided for me my turning point. Studying abroad alone does not always bring happy moments. It is not easy, and it also brings some difficulties like misunderstanding with difference culture. Studying in abroad is worthy enough for making efforts with such kind of difficulties, if you never give it up with strong mind, then you can overcome such difficulties and the troubles that you encountered, and it will makes you mature and experienced person and finally you will be successful in life.
During many years of studying abroad in Japan, I experienced many things. Among them, I realized that the people in Japan have the kindness and tenderness, and they are amazingly warm-heart and cheerful, including the Professors, students, and staffs who I have met in APU. Since I came to Japan, I have met with several Japanese people and friends, and their gentle mind and consideration for others helped me a lot. Some Japanese are enthusiastically engaged in volunteer activities. I will keep in my mind the things I have learned from the people of Japan, and I wish that I could give return for their kindness to their society.
If you have a chance to study in Japan, I recommend that you study in APU because it is located near the Aichikyūhaku-kinen-kōen (Aichi World Exhibition Memorial Park) in Nagakute city, which is next to the Nagoya city, i.e., my favorite city in Japan.
